Goals of the SCPhA Board of Directors

 

  1. SCPhA should advocate patient safety and support the Institute of Medicine report on preventing medication errors.
  2. SCPhA will work to enhance services and benefits of SCPhA membership to attract a more diverse and representative membership body.
  3. SCPhA will move to enhance and expand the profession of pharmacy.
  4. SCPhA should work to enhance the activities and programs of CPN to improve the state of community pharmacy in SC.
  5. SCPhA will support development of charitable giving opportunities for the benefit of the pharmacy profession through the SC Pharmacy Foundation.
  6. SCPhA shall strive to foster and develop a continuous pipeline of future leaders.
  7. Evaluate and support the needs of the district pharmacy associations.

 

 

Constitution of the South Carolina Pharmacy Association

 

ARTICLE II. MISSION AND OBJECTIVES

SECTION 1. Mission: The mission of the Association shall be to serve its members, enabling them to advance the practice and science of pharmacy.

 

SECTION 2. Objectives: To accomplish its mission, the objectives of this Association shall be:

  1. To promote, elevate and expand the practice of the individual pharmacist;
  2. To provide leadership for the profession in legislative and regulatory matters and health policy issues;
  3. To provide leadership for the profession in the areas of specializing and credentialing in pharmacy practice;
  4. To promote the American Pharmacists Association Code of Professional Ethics to ensure the public of high standards of conduct in professional practice;
  5. To promote and assist in effective application of science and scientific information and principles in the practice of pharmacy;
  6. To encourage development of progressive payment methodologies for the full range of pharmacy services;
  7. To promote the safe, effective and rational use of medications, therapeutic agents and medical devices for the prevention of illness, treatment of a medical condition or maintenance of health;
  8. To provide information, programs and support systems to assist pharmacists in their ongoing career development, leadership development and professional growth.

 

  

 

 

SCPhA House of Delegates Representatives

 

There are four (4) regions outlined in the state from which delegates will be elected each year. The number of delegates allotted will be determined based upon the number of members in that region as of January 1st of each year. Each region will be allowed one (1) delegate per fifty (50) members, or the greater fraction thereof.

Bamberg, Barnwell, Beaufort, Berkeley, Calhoun, Charleston, Colleton, Dorchester, Hampton, Jasper, and Orangeburg counties.
