to reach out to pharmacists, technicians and students in their own back yards.

• Review current trends and data for opioid use, misuse and abuse
• Discuss the opioid crisis as a national issue and its effects in South Carolina
• Describe best practices for prescribing and dispensing opioid analgesics
• Identify strategies to detect prescription opioid abuse
• Discuss the role of naloxone in prescription opioid therapy and educate patients and caregivers on the use of naloxone
